Not sure if this journal is going to be finished up by the Feb. 1 shop update, but I certainly am going to try and make it so, it's just so fun.

The largest printing block I've ever done. Going to make a piece of art for the natural history museum with this one.

Work Table Wednesday: Tins in Progress

Trying to get back into the swing of a somewhat regular schedule after the busy-ness of the holidays! I always find that one of the best times to buy various sizes of tins to cover with clay is right after a holiday - because all the holiday themed tins go on clearance sale!

I've begun working on a few tins - here they are very near the beginning of the process.  I began by giving them a bit of a sanding, applying a bit of white glue and letting it dry, and then putting on the "base" layer of clay. Then it will be time for the first session of baking. I have found that doing projects like this in multiple steps makes it much easier to not accidentally squish something during the process of creation, which makes it more fun and less stressful!

Green Tree Python Embroidery

As you can see from the following photo, I'm a wild wild party animal and I spent my New Year's Eve like this:

That's me, embroidering by the light of a small clip on flashlight that my partner in crime there attached to his hat for me.  And here's the project I was working on:

I printed the green tree python (from a hand-carved block) on Muslin with dye ink, and then stitched away. Once I was done stitching, I tinted it with alcohol inks. Now to figure out how to finish it up!
